Guerrilla Grafters

Guerrilla grafters are people who turn ornamental fruit trees that are sometimes planted in towns and cities for their spectacular bloom during spring into fruit bearing productive trees by using a technique called grafting.
Some decades ago it was actually a common practise in the former East Germany to plant fruit trees along roadsides in rural areas and everyone could go and pick  the fruit. Some of these roadside fruit trees can still be found today. However nobody cares to pick the fruit. Maybe this new trend of "Guerrilla Grafting" is a sign that things are changing.
